In modern histopathology laboratories, efficient slide staining is essential for maintaining consistent workflows and supporting accurate microscopic examination. The XWS-B Fully Automatic Stainer from Xiuwei Technology is designed to automate routine staining procedures while improving processing efficiency, operational convenience, and workflow stability.

With a linear layout, multi-program operation, automatic slide-rack transfer, and flexible drying control, the XWS-B provides a practical solution for laboratories seeking to improve their slide staining workflow.

High-Capacity Design for Continuous Staining

The XWS-B adopts a linear layout that provides a large staining capacity while maintaining a compact equipment footprint.

The system can simultaneously operate up to 5 staining racks, with each rack accommodating up to 30 standard microscope slides. This allows up to 150 slides to be processed simultaneously.

An isolation algorithm is used to coordinate multiple staining racks, helping different staining batches operate independently and reducing interference between concurrent processes.

22 Reagent Stations Plus 3 Running-Water Stations

The XWS-B is equipped with 22 reagent stations, with each station holding up to 450 mL of reagent, together with 3 running-water stations.

This configuration provides sufficient space for routine staining workflows and supports different staining protocols according to laboratory requirements.

The staining vessels are designed for resistance to chemical corrosion. Their inner surfaces feature a lotus-leaf effect, helping reduce reagent adhesion to the vessel walls during movement. This makes the staining vessels easier to clean and helps reduce reagent residue.

Flexible Multi-Program Operation

Different pathology specimens may require different staining procedures. The XWS-B allows laboratories to configure and run different staining programs simultaneously, providing greater flexibility for routine laboratory workflows.

The system can store up to 16 staining programs, with each program supporting up to 30 programmable steps. This enables laboratories to save frequently used protocols and quickly apply the appropriate program for different staining requirements.

Automatic Slide-Rack Transfer

The XWS-B is designed for continuous automatic loading and unloading of staining racks. Instead of manually transferring racks between different processing areas, the robotic arm automatically moves staining racks between the reagent stations, water baths, and drying chamber.

The drying area can be opened or closed according to workflow requirements, while the drying temperature can be adjusted from room temperature to 85°C. The residence time of the staining rack in the upper position can also be adjusted.

This automated transfer process helps reduce repetitive manual handling and supports a more efficient staining workflow.

Drawer-Type Loading Design for Safer Operation

The XWS-B features a unique drawer-type loading and unloading design. Operators can load or remove staining racks without opening the main equipment cover.

This design helps reduce the possibility of gases inside the machine escaping into the laboratory environment during routine loading and unloading operations.

High-Precision Motion Control

Stable and accurate movement is important for automated staining systems. The XWS-B uses high-precision linear guides to improve the stability of the X and Z axes during operation.

Combined with high-precision motor control, the system is designed to achieve accurate staining-rack positioning and transfer.

User-Friendly Control Interface

The XWS-B combines an integrated high-definition resistive touchscreen with physical buttons.

The physical buttons can be operated while wearing gloves, making routine operation more convenient in laboratory environments. Shortcut buttons can also be configured to improve operating efficiency.

Intelligent Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis

To support reliable laboratory operation, the XWS-B provides functions for remote software upgrades and machine operation monitoring.

The system can perform automatic fault diagnosis and provide audible alarm notifications when problems are detected, helping laboratory personnel identify abnormal conditions more efficiently.
